John Adam Schmidt's Obituary
John Adam Schmidt III, age 76, of Centerville, passed away Friday, August 25, 2023 at his home.
John was born on August 7, 1947 in Pennsylvania, the son of John Adam Schmidt Jr. and Betty (Lane) Schmidt. He attended Souderton High School in Pennsylvania, and graduated from the Class of 1965. Following high school graduation, John enlisted in the United States Navy, serving his country faithfully in Vietnam.
On February 17, 1968, John married his high school sweetheart, Kathleen M. Maclver at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Sumneytown, Pennsylvania. From this union, a daughter was born, Kathleen Michelle.
John lived in various places throughout his life including Pennsylvania, Florida, Maryland, and West Virginia, where he worked in the computer field. After retiring, John and Kathy moved to Iowa. John enjoyed playing golf and working at the golf course during retirement.
Left to honor John's memory are his son-in-law, Erik Mohrey; his sisters, Julie Bowlin and Jennifer (Mark) Bombardier; his brother, Jack Schmidt; and his sisters-in-law, Lyndi Schmidt and Debbie Schmidt; as well as several nieces and a nephew.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Schmidt; his daughter, Michelle Mohrey; his parents, John and Betty Schmidt; his brothers, Jerry Schmidt and Jim Schmidt; and his brother-in-law, Jack Bowlin.
Per wishes, cremation has been accorded. There are no scheduled services at this time.
