John William Montgomery's Obituary
John William Montgomery passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 44 years of age. John was born on March 7, 1979 to Jim and Kayla Montgomery. He joined a brother, Jimmy Montgomery.
John graduated from Centerville High School and continued working at the family-owned service station, Young's Service Station in Mystic, Iowa. After a few years of working there, he decided to look for something that paid a little more and had some benefits. So, he started work at Pella Windows in Pella, Iowa, and worked there for several years.
At this time, he started a family, Bradyn Briar John Montgomery followed by his sister, Makenzie Sue Montgomery. John worshipped his children and took them on many fun trips. They loved four-wheeling and anytime they could spend together. John's children were his greatest treasure.
John was loved by all that knew him. He was always good for a laugh and he could make you laugh when you didn't think it was possible. John will always be remembered for his fun personality and quick wit.
John is survived by his children, Bradyn Montgomery (Kylie Rouse) and Makenzie Montgomery; his brother, Jimmy (Erin) Montgomery; his parents, Jim and Kayla Montgomery; his grandmother, Donna Young; his special friend, Kari Jellison and her family, Xander Jellison, Taytem Johnson and Destinni Johnson; his uncles, Ted Young and Tom Young; his aunt Connie; and cousins, Ryan and Krissy Young; as well as numerous other family members.
Preceding John in death were his grandparents, John W. Young, James H. Montgomery and Maxine Montgomery.
Funeral services for John will be held at 6:00PM, Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with Pastor Kay Singley officiating. Cremation will follow the service and a private family burial will take place at a later date. An open visitation will take place Thursday at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with the family greeting friends from 4:00-6:00PM.
