John "Jack" Davis' Obituary
John "Jack" Davis, 76, of Mystic, passed away at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines on Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Jack was born in Rockford, Illinois to John and Ruth (Hull) Davis on October 19, 1938. He received his education from Burbank High School in Burbank, CA. He went on to receive his 2 year degree from Los Angeles Trade Tech College. Jack married Linda Bennett in June of 1963, they later divorced. Jack served our country in the Air Force and worked as an airplane technician. After the service he was employed as a diesel technician. In 1984, Jack met Marcia Johnson. They were married in 1988. He began retirement in 2005. Jack was a member of the Mechanics Union in Denver, CO. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in the outdoors. Jack liked working with his hands and used that skill to restore old cars. He was a busy body that didn't like when his health declined, keeping him from some of his pass times. Jack always enjoyed time socializing with friends and family. Jack is survived by his wife, Marcia, three daughters; Elizabeth (Mark) Agen of Colorado Springs, CO, Susan (Rick) Schweer of Aurora, CO and Christina Messina of Colorado Springs, CO, eight grandchildren, and a sister, Pam (Doug) Jamieson of Aurora, CO. He was preceded by brother, Mike Davis, his parents and grandparents; Carl and Margaret Davis and Wallace and Maude Hull. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 11 am at Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Hargrave officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 31, 2015 from 6-8 pm.
