Joe was always good to everyone. He knew no stranger and accepted me as part of his family. My name is a Don Hedgecock and I am married to Jamie which is his granddaughter a daughter to Beverly Babbitt ( His Daughter). Joe loved hunting and trapping and passed this on to many of his family members. Jamie tells the story of Joe taking her with him also, so even the girls had a chance with Joe to learn. Joe served during WWII and was a decorated Veteran. This should be recognized and his passing should be honored as such. During two presidential elections ago Joe said that he couldn't believe our country had come to the point of electing someone that wasn't even verified to be an American and called him Obomber instead of Obama. I found this funny but he was pretty close then and now more than ever. For Most of us that have served understand the importance of having someone in that office that can relate to what our men and women in service go through. It should be required also. Joe always seamed to have an opinion on the things that mattered most to him and his family and country always was at the forefront to all of our conversations. He will be missed but never forgotten by all that had the privilege and honor to know him. CODE OF CONDUCT FOR THE U. S. FIGHTING MAN 1. I am an American fighting man. I serve in the forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense. Thank You Joe for your sacrifices Posted by Don Hedgecock - Udell, IA - Grand Son in Law January 05, 2015
