Joan Seals' Obituary
Joan Seals, age 81 of Centerville, Iowa, passed away January 19, 2011 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.
Joan was born November 23, 1929, the daughter of John and Leona (Phillips) Tunnell in Centerville, Iowa. She married Ernest John Seals in August of 1962. He preceded her in death on September 27, 1991. Joan worked many years in the accounting department at Iowa Southern Utilities. She enjoyed reading and was a member of the Sharon Chapel and Exline Methodist Church and a past member of Drake Avenue Christian Church.
Joan is survived by six children, Dale Roy (Fran) Richardson of Shawsville, VA, Mary Anita (Mark) Haines of Plano, IA, Nancy Ella Sorenson of Des Moines, IA, Cheryl Lynn Webb of Des Moines, IA, Annabeth Mae (Dewayne) Crowell of Forrest City, AR, and Karen LaVon (Larry) Grimes of Des Moines, IA; twenty-one grandchildren; more than twenty great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two children, Susan Comesana and Sheila Shondell.
Funeral Services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, January 22, 2011 at the Lange Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa. Burial will follow at the Sharon Chapel Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday evening at the funeral home with family present from 6-8 PM. A memorial has been established to Angels Hands or Sharon Chapel Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to the Lange Funeral Home 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa 52544.
