Jimmy Lynn Carter's Obituary
Jimmy Lynn Carter, 49, of Exline, Iowa, formerly of Putnam County, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026, while visiting the graves of his parents on Mothers Day. Jimmy was born in Unionville, Missouri to Lewis Max and Beverly Arlene (Exline) Carter on May 29,1976.
In 2006, Jimmy accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and was a member of West Liberty Baptist Church in Putnam County for several years. Jimmy enjoyed farming, which he had done most of his life, working for others and on his own farm.
On January 11, 2014, Jimmy married Molly Davenport. In 2021 they enjoyed a trip together to Montana, Wyoming and the other western states. He also enjoyed watching farming shows and travel shows. His favorite book was his Bible.
He is survived by his wife, Molly; his brothers, Johnny, Jason and Jeremy (Delin); his sisters, Kim Garr and Tammy Dooley (Cary); father-in-law and mother-in-law, Steve and Gayle Davenport; sister-in-law, Amy DeVore (Scott); brother-in-law, Josh Davenport (Tara); and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Arlene, his niece Isabelle Dooley, and six miscarried babies.
Private graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 13 with Pastor Josh Davenport officiating.
