Jim Tomash's Obituary
Leonard James Tomash, 77 of Unionville, Iowa passed away, Friday, April 9, 2021 at his home, surrounded by family.
Jim was born to Leonard & Maxine (Madden) Tomash on May 16, 1943 in Tacoma, Washington. Jim received his education from Oxford High School in Oxford, Iowa in May, 1961. He earned his commercial helicopters license in 1976. Jim was united in marriage to Kimberlee (Delaney) in March 1993.
Jim enjoyed life in Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana. Since 2003 he and Kim resided in Unionville, Iowa.
Throughout his life, Jim was a pilot, home builder and excavator. He was an avid flyer and ATV enthusiast and spent many wonderful hours in the west enjoying the mountains with his family and circle of dear friends.
Survivors include his wife, Kimberlee Tomash; children: Holly (Les) Driskill of Montana, Tarena (Don) Toy of Iowa, Bowe (Kristy) Tomash of Wyoming and J.J. (Nicole) Tomash of Colorado, his mother, Maxine Tomash of Williamsburg, Iowa; sister, Linda (John) Simonson of Parnell, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one nephew and numerous friends. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Tomash.
A celebration of Jim's life will be April 24, 2021 at Weeping Willow Event Center in Unionville, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. and service at 11:30 with a luncheon to follow. In honor of Jim, please wear something red, his favorite color. No flowers please.
A memorial donation can be made to the family c/o Kim Tomash and will be used for a community project in honor of Jim.
