James B. Cisler, 75 of Centerville passed away Thursday, January 08, 2009 at Golden Age Care Center in Centerville. Jim was born to Charles & Lucille (Farnsworth) Cisler on April 30, 1933 in Centerville. He received his education from Seymour High School in 1951. He married Patricia Ann Avey in Savannah, Illinois. Jim was a truck driver for most of his life retiring in 1981. He enjoyed singing, racing cars, boxing and time spent with his grandchildren. Jim is survived by his wife Pat of Centerville, five children; Chuck Cisler of Newton, Carl Cisler(Lynette) of Centerville, Danny Cisler(Patty) of Centerville, Jimmy Cisler(Bea) of West Des Moines, Charlie Cisler(Alexis) of Centerville; eight grandchildren, Melisha Blair of Newton, Christian Cisler, of Centerville, Alexis Cisler of Centerville, Daniel Cisler of Centerville, Tyler Cisler of Bloomfield, Seth Cisler of West Des Moines, Abbie Cisler of Centerville and Brady Cisler of Centerville. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Charlie Beitos. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 12, 2009 at Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Dave Clark officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 - 5:00 p.m. Sunday with the family present from 3-5 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home. A private interment will be held in Numa Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be given to the family which will be donated between Golden Age Care Center and Mercy Hospice which may be left at or mailed to Thomas Funeral Home - 23548 Hwy 5 - PO Box 125 - Centerville, Iowa 52544.
