I guess I technically don't belong here, but sadness is a sort of thing that ripples, so I'm here anyway. My dad (named Jim Gerard) told me yesterday about his passing, and from the things he mentioned about him, I could remember that he was someone who my dad has mentioned at least a few times in the past here and there. He's definitely sad about it, and I'm kinda just an easily emotionally-worked-up sort of person so even I had to cry about it despite myself not having a bond. My dad clearly had a lot of respect for Jim Goodman, saying he was one of his heroes, and We've lost one of the good ones. Condolences to everyone who know the guy... I'm sure it's a rough loss.
