Jim Campbell's Obituary
Jim Campbell, age 65, of Numa, Iowa, died Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at Iowa Veterans Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born the son of James Vincent and Katheryn (Sloan) Campbell on November 18, 1941 in Centerville, Iowa. He graduated from Centerville Community Schools in 1960 and later attended Indian Hills Community College.He served his country during the Viet Nam War with the United States Navy from August 3, 1961 until his honorable discharge on August 2, 1967. On June 24, 1982, Jim was united in marriage to Jane Estlack in Centerville. He taught Computer Programming at Indian Hills Community College from 1975 till 1981 and later would become a over the road truck driver. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the American Legion both in Centerville.He was preceded in death by: his father, James CampbellJim is survived by: his wife, Jane Campbell of Numa, Iowa; sons, James Campbell and his wife, Vanessa of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Rob Campbell and his wife, Stephanie of Delta, Iowa; step-sons, Bill VanDeventer and Bob VanDeventer of Delta, Iowa; daughter, Mendy Edgar and her husband, Lance of Baxter, Iowa; his mother, Katheryn Campbell Lay of Centerville, Iowa; brother, Skip Campbell of Centerville, Iowa; sisters, Donna Foppe of Taylorville, Illinois and Jill Brandsma of New Braunfels, Texas; fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 13, 2007 at 10:30 am at the First United Methodist Church in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Dianne Christopher officiating. Burial be he held at a later date at the Numa Cemetery in Numa, Iowa.
