Jessie Helen Turner's Obituary
Jessie Helen Turner, age 98, of Moravia, Iowa, died Friday, November 30, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, Iowa. She was born the daughter of Albert and Anna (Beaty) Potts on December 5, 1908 near Moravia, Iowa. She graduated from the Albia High School in 1926 and attended Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa graduating with a teaching degree.After teaching school for 1 year, she was united in marriage to Ralph L. Turner in Elkader, Iowa, on May 13, 1933, and began her life's work as a homemaker. She was a member of the Sew and So Club as well as being a 4-H leader. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Moravia, Iowa and was also a member of UMW at the church.She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Ralph Turner on September 9, 2002; brothers, Clair and Forrest Potts.Jessie is survived by: her daughter, Aileen (Wayne) McKee of Indianola, Iowa; granddaughter, Elizabeth (Dan) Clark and great grandchildren, Austin and McKenna Clark; grandson, Greg (Sharron) McKee and great grandchildren, Amber and Garrit McKee; her son, Paul (Suzanne) Turner of Moravia, Iowa; grandson, Brent Turner; granddaughter, Denise (Dean) Schmitz and great grandson, Blake Schmitz.A Celebration of her life will be held on her 99th birthday, Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at 10:30 am at the Grace United Methodist Church in Moravia, Iowa with Rev. Gene Kubli officiating. Burial will follow at the Hillcrest Cemetery south of Moravia.
