Jerry Junior Knowles' Obituary
Jerry Knowles, 80, of Unionville, MO passed away on Thursday, July 10th, 2025 after a brief stay at the Putnam County Care Center. Jerry was born in Unionville, MO on February 21st, 1945, the son of Junior and Cleta (Wilson) Knowles. Jerry was an Army Veteran who served during the Vietnam war and in December of 1972, he married Connie Mayer who preceded him in death on July 6th, 2016. Jerry loved basketball, old cars (especially Corvettes), golfing, water skiing, and playing cards at the pool hall with his "card buddies." Jerry enjoyed his time spent with family and liked to reminisce about the Good Old Days. He was an entrepreneur that contributed to his community with many different business's through out his life.
Jerry is survived by his 3 children, Kellie Purdy and husband Mike, Erin Warnick and husband Todd, and Derek Knowles and wife Molly. Jerry's surviving grandchildren are Ashley Purdy, Cody Purdy, Cameron Purdy, Taylor Purdy, Spencer Knowles, and Barrett Knowles. Surviving great grandchildren are Lauryn Walker, Carter Purdy, Olivia Purdy, Reese Purdy, and Hayden Purdy. Jerry is also survived by a brother, John Knowles (Robin); sister, Donna Miller; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, brother-in-laws, and sister-in-laws.
In addition to his wife and parents, Jerry was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Charlie Miller.
Jerry's graveside service will be held at the Unionville Cemetery on Tuesday, July 15th, 2025 at 10:00 am. Jerry's public viewing will be at the Thomas Funeral Home on Monday, July 14th, 2025 between the hours of 5:00-7:00 pm.
Memorials in Jerry's honor may be made payable to the Unionville Cemetery and entrusted to the Thomas Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th St., Unionville, MO 63565.
