Jerry Mack Kerby's Obituary
Jerry Mack Kerby, age 74 of Centerville, passed away Monday, September 25, 2017 at his home.
Jerry was born on October 9, 1942 in Centerville, Iowa, the son of Clay and Blanche (Watkins) Kerby. He graduated from Moulton High School. Jerry was united in marriage to Carol Marie (Beck) Dalbey on February 10, 1995 in Ottumwa, Iowa.
Jerry was employed for 18 years for ISU (IES, Alliant) as a supervisor at the Chillicothe Power Plant. He then began his own business in the bulldozing industry, and retired in 2015. He loved playing cards and watching Nascar. He also enjoyed accompanying his wife, Carol who is one of Jehovah's Witnesses to their meetings.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Carol Kerby; his children, Theresa Flowerette, Trudy Kerby, Amy Kerby, Tammy Kerby, Vance Dalbey and Dean Dalbey; seventeen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clay and Blanche Kerby; a daughter, Mary Gertrude Kerby; two brothers, E.J. Kerby and Donnie Kerby; and a sister, Colleen Hetzler.
A memorial service will be held 10:00AM, Friday, September 29, 2017 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Elder Jubal Beck officiating. A visitation will take place from 9-10AM, Friday, September 29, 2017 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville.
