Jennifer Johnson's Obituary
Jennifer Annette Johnson (Elliott), 48 of Kansas City, Missouri passed away Thursday, July 15, 2021 at St. Luke's Hospice House in Kansas City after battling cancer for over 2 ½ years.
Jennifer was born to Gary & Karen (Landgrebe) Elliott on March 19, 1973 in Corydon, Iowa. Jennifer received her education from Seymour High School, graduating in 1991. She would further her education at the University of Northern Iowa, receiving her B.S. Degree in 1996.
Jennifer had a servant's heart and worked as a Social Worker for 20 plus years. She was an Awana leader for 20 years at Antioch Bible Baptist Church in Gladstone, Missouri as well as a nursery worker at the church. She enjoyed shopping at thrift stores with her 3 children, attending her children's sporting events and playing cards & board games with all her family when visiting her hometown of Seymour. Some of Jennifer's favorite pastimes were listening to Tim McGraw's music, collecting memorabilia from the Beauty and the Beast as well as Holiday Barbies.
Survivors include her three children: Caitlyn Elliott, Chiara Johnson, Creshaun Johnson; grandchildren: Elijah, Sophia, Carl; mother, Karen Elliott; siblings: Jeff Elliott (Penny), Cindy Beenken (Dan), Sonya Graumenz (Kevin) and numerous extended family. She was preceded in death by her father, Gary Elliott; grandparents, Loyd & Anna Landgrebe and Forest & Marian Elliott.
Funeral service will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with Pastor Bob Baier officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the family of Jennifer Johnson for the benefit of her 3 surviving children and mailed to Thomas Funeral Home, C/O Elliott Family, 501 N 18th St., Centerville, Iowa 52544.
