Jeffie J. Forsythe's Obituary
Jeffie J. Forsythe, age 82, of Moulton, Iowa, died Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, Iowa. He was born the son of Jeffie and Ruby (Tracy) Forsythe on October 11, 1926 in Dean, Iowa. He graduated from Moulton Community Schools.From June 14, 1945 until his honorable discharge from the United States Army on November 13, 1946, he served his country during WWII. On December 31, 1946, Jeffie was united in marriage to Margaret Stansberry in Centerville, Iowa. He worked for the Walbash Railroad, and later the Norfolk-Western Railroad as a Conductor for over 32 years. He was a member of Burl McClure American Legion Post #280 and the Christian Church both of Moulton.He was preceded in death by: his parents; a son, Steven Forsythe on April 28, 2007; a sister, Nioma Sleeth and a brother, Bernard Forsythe.Jeffie is survived by: his wife, Margaret Forsythe of Moulton, Iowa; son, Dennis Forsythe and his wife, Cindy of Norwalk, Iowa; a daughter, Pam Daniels and her husband, Dennis of Moulton, Iowa; a daughter-in-law, Sue Forsythe of Moulton, Iowa; six grandchildren and Eleven great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Albright of Wellman, Iowa, Cathleen Horn of Tennessee and Jean Bitner of Centerville, IowaFuneral services will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 10:30 am at the Christian Church in Moulton, Iowa with Rev. Reg Higginbottom officiating. Burial with full military honors will take place at the Sunset View Cemetery north of Moulton following the services at the church. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 3, 2009 from 1 pm till 8 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Moulton with the family present from 6 pm till 8 pm the funeral home.Memorials can be made to the Moulton Christian Church and may be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
