Jeffery Allen Babb's Obituary
Jeffery Allen Babb, age 49, beloved son, brother and uncle of Centerville, Iowa died Sunday morning, March 9, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center Long Term Care, Centerville, Iowa.
Jeff was born January 10, 1965 in Buchanan, Michigan, the son of James and Jean Babb. J eff lived many years at the Glenwood State School and Hospital in Glenwood, Iowa. He spent the last 5 A years of his life at Mercy Medical Center Long Term Care in Centerville. Jeff loved his music, especially the song ""On Top of Spaghetti."" He loved playing his guitar and making up his own songs. Jeff also loved riding motorcycles in his early years and shooting his big guns. He enjoyed ""Cat in the Hat,"" ""Wizard of Oz,"" as well as many other classic TV shows. Jeff enjoyed his picnics and outside barbeques, hotdogs, and don't forget, the diet coke. God took a very special Angel. Jeff never met a person he didn't like and everyone who met Jeff loved him. He had a very soft spot in his heart for babies. He will be greatly missed.
Jeff is survived by his mother, Jean Babb of Cincinnati, Iowa; brothers, Jim Babb of Cincinnati, Jerry (Becky) Babb of Centerville; sisters, Jeanine (Billy) Shiltz of Cincinnati and Janie (Bill Brink) Wood of Centerville; a grandmother, Lura Lewis of Spencer, Indiana; also, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Babb; grandmother, Jane Lane; his grandfather, Franklin Lane; and a nephew, Johnathan Shiltz.
Funeral services will be held at 11AM Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Lange Funeral Home & Crematory, Centerville, Iowa with Pastor Kay Singley officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday morning, 10AM until 11AM before the funeral service. Burial will follow the funeral service at Haines Cemetery, north of Centerville. A memorial has been established to the Jeffrey Babb Memorial Fund and may be left or mailed to Lange Funeral Home, 1900 South 18th St., Centerville, Iowa 52544.
