Jean F. Sebben's Obituary
Jean Sebben, age 96, of Centerville, Iowa, died Friday, March 1, 2013, at Centerville Nursing & Rehab Center in Centerville. She was born on July 11, 1916 in Hedrick, Iowa the daughter of George E. and Marvel F. (Morgan) Glascock. She graduated from Cincinnati High School where she played on the Girls Basketball Team.On July 27, 1937, Jean was united in marriage to Raymond Sebben in Lancaster, Missouri. Together, they ran Raymond's Dairy Creme in Centerville, Iowa for over 30 years. She also was proud of her cooking and her flower and vegetable gardens. She also loved birds and was a person of action. She so enjoyed being around children and was especially proud of her grandchildren.She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Raymond Sebben on March 27, 1999; brothers, Paul Glascock, Otis Glascock, Raymond 'Barney' Glascock, Tommie Glascock, Richard 'Dick' Glascock and 1 in infancyJean is survived by: her daughter, Gay Lawrence and her husband, Tony of Edina, Minnesota; grandsons, John Lawrence and Thomas Lawrence; and a brother, George Glascock of Centerville, IowaFuneral services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville with Rev. Carl and Sharon Heien officiating. Burial to follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Cincinnati, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 8, 2013 from 1 pm until 8 pm with the family present from 6 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home.Memorials can be made to either the Pleasant Hill Cemetery or to the Centerville Nursing & Rehabs Activity Fund and can be mailed to or left at the funeral home.
