Jean Rouse's Obituary
Jean Rouse, age 77, of Centerville, Iowa, died Sunday, June 15, 2008, at her home in Centerville. She was born the daughter of Elias and Marta (Clemens) Berndt on July 13, 1930 in Berlin, Germany. She completed her high school education in Berlin, Germany. On July 9, 1950, Jean was united in marriage to DeWayne 'Dewey' Rouse in Berlin, Germany. She worked at the Centerville National Bank as a teller for many years. Jean is preceded in death by: her parents, Elias and Marta Berndt; her husband, DeWayne 'Dewey' Rouse on November 10, 1993; and a brother, Karl Berndt. She is survived by: two sons, Marion 'Sandy' Rouse of Grinnell, Iowa and Michael Rouse of Morganfield, Kentucky; two daughters, Monica Foster of Novinger, Missouri and Maureen Roberts of Wills Point, Texas; a brother, Erwin Berndt of Wuppertal, Germany; two sisters, Gabriela Krammler of Wuppertal, Germany and Hilla Berndt of Australia; and five grandchildren. Mass of Resurrection will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2008 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville, Iowa with Fr. Tim Guthridge, C.PPS officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville, Iowa.
