Jean O Manning's Obituary
Jeannie Manning, age 86, of Centerville, Iowa, died Thursday, October 15, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. She was born the daughter of Walter and Marguerite (Forrester) Olivera on November 30, 1922 in Alhanbra, California. She graduated from the Alhanbra Community High School.In 1944, Jeannie was united in marriage to Vaughn Manning in Alhanbra, California. They later would move to Marshalltown, Iowa where Jean was employed at Jean's - a women's apparel shop in Marshalltown. She was a member of the Congregational Church in Marshalltown. After her husband's death in 2003, she came to live with her daughter, Jillisa in Centerville.She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Vaughn Manning; and a sister, Marguerita Olivera in 1991.Jean is survived by: her sons, Mark Manning and his wife, Cathy of Marshalltown, Iowa, Rick Manning and Jeff Manning and his wife, Mia all of Los Angeles, California; a daughter, Jillisa Manning of Centerville, Iowa; also, four grandchildren.There are no local arrangements at this time and final burial will take place at the San Gabriel Cemetery in San Gabriel, California on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 1 pm which will be under the direction of the Pierce Bros - Turner and Stevens Mortuary in San Gabriel, California.
