Jean Ann Kirkland's Obituary
Jean A. Kirkland, age 75, of Cincinnati, Iowa, died Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. She was born the daughter of John and Virginia (Ross) Golick on February 27, 1940 near Goatsburg, Iowa. She graduated from the Cincinnati Community High School in 1957.On June 20, 1959, Jean was united in marriage to Donnie Kirkland in Cincinnati, Iowa. She worked for many years at Joe's Quick Shop and later Casey's General Store both in Centerville. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Cincinnati, Iowa. She so loved her family and providing for them. She also enjoyed just sitting watching the birds and her game show channel on TV.She was preceded in death by: her parents.Jean is survived by: her husband, Donnie Kirkland of Cincinnati, Iowa; a son, David Kirkland and his wife, Lori of Cincinnati, Iowa; a daughter, Debbie Tait of Cincinnati, Iowa; a brother, John Golick of Lake Villa, Illinois; grandchildren, Kacey Kirkland, Trenton Kirkland and his wife, Amanda, Megan Vanderlinden and her husband, Ivan and Tyler Tait; great grandchild, Viktor Vanderlinden.Funeral services will be held at 10 am, Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Kay Singley officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery west of Cincinnati, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 10, 2015 from 2 pm until 8 pm with the family present from 5 pm until 7 pm at the funeral home.Memorials can be made to either the Friends of Drake Public Library or to the First Christian Church and left or mailed to the funeral home.
