Janice Mullenix's Obituary
Janice Lee Mullenix, 71, of Cincinnati, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Monroe Care Center in Albia, Iowa. Janice was born to Robert and Katherine Starr on June 15, 1946 in Centerville, Iowa. After graduating high school in Moulton-Udell in 1964, Janice worked briefly before marrying her husband, James on June 8, 1968 in Unionville, Missouri. Janice then did what she loved the most-became a homemaker and raised a family. Janice lived most of her life south of Kirksville, Missouri until moving back to Cincinnati. In Janice's spare time she became a NASCAR enthusiast who could not be bothered during qualifying, practice, nor the race. Janice always loved decorating for the holidays, taking and collecting pictures, going to family gatherings, and doing various crafts including needlepoint. Her biggest love was always her love for her family. Janice is survived by her four children: Doug (Sharon) Starr of Pittsburgh, Kansas, Susan Graves of Cincinnati, Iowa, Cynthia Mullenix (Raul Garcia) of Corona, California and Wendy Mullenix (Shawn Grosekemper) of Cincinnati, Iowa; seven grandchildren: Michael Condra, Joshua Condra, Alicia Mullenix-Clark (Tad Clark), Tiffany Condra, Rachel Smith, Dan Graves and Nicholas Graves; seven great grandchildren, Isabelle, Jameson, Adeline, Caydon, James, Tazia, and Abigail. She is also survived by her siblings: Steve (Kathie) Starr of Bettendorf, Iowa, Robert (Ruby) Starr of Centerville, Iowa, Debbie Starr (Greg Mattis) of Albia, Iowa, Vickie (Dennis) Hall of Parachute, Colorado, Jay (Jody) Starr of California, Missouri, Jack (Tyke) Starr of Centerville, Iowa and Kerry (Susie) Starr of Centerville, Iowa; two sisters-in-law: Zelda Starr and Donna Bates, both of Centerville, Iowa as well as many nieces and nephews. Janice was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents; her husband, James; her brothers: Tom Starr and Mike Starr; sister-in-law, Donna Starr; son-in-law, Danny Graves and grandson, Jason Smith. Funeral services will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 3, 2017 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville. Interment will immediately follow the service at Sunset View Cemetery in Moulton. Visitation was held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Thomas Funeral Home.
