Janice Sue Felton's Obituary
Janice Sue Felton, age 72, of Unionville, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Janice was born on January 19, 1946 in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of Dwight and Agnes (Harrington) Ogden. She graduated from Moulton-Udell High School as Valedictorian with the Class of 1964. She was united in marriage to Jerry Felton on April 11, 1965 at the Fairview Church of the Brethren in Unionville, Iowa.
One day after graduation, Janice started working at the Appanoose County Courthouse. She held the position of Deputy Treasurer in the Office of the Appanoose County Treasurer, until she retired after forty four years. She was a member of the Fairview Church of the Brethren in Unionville for many years. She loved mowing her yard, and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and the St. Louis Cardinals. Janice loved everything about her family, especially hosting Sunday dinners, where everyone, including non-family members, were welcome. She was fond of playing cards, and attending her grandchildren's ball games.
Janice is survived by her husband, Jerry Felton of Unionville, Iowa; her children, Amy (Nic) Belloma of Centerville, Brian (Martha) Felton of Centerville, and Andrew (Molly) Felton of Centerville; three siblings, Patty Pirtle of Bloomfield, Judy DeGraaf of Ottumwa, and Gary (Debbie) Ogden of Moulton; eleven grandchildren, Bailey (Jesse) Moorman, Maggie Belloma, Tate Felton, Libby Felton, Luke Felton, Lane Felton, Levi Felton, Lincoln Felton, Lindsey Felton, Bentley Felton, and Brantley Felton; and one great grandson, Oakley Probasco.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dwight and Agnes Ogden; an infant son, David Felton; and her brother-in-laws, Charlie Pirtle and Floyd DeGraaf.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM, Monday, January 29, 2018 at the Orleans Church in Moulton, Iowa, with Rev. Jerry Weller officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Unionville, Iowa. A visitation will take place Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville from 12-7PM, with family greeting friends from 4-7PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to the family of Janice Felton, and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home, 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
