Janet Juanita Oden's Obituary
Janet (Juanita) Oden, age 87, of Exline, IA died April 26, 2005 at Mercy Medical Center, Centerville.
Mrs. Oden was born October 20, 1917, the daughter of William Thomas Dooley and Margaret Gillespie Dooley. She was married to Jack E. Oden on December 28, 1939. She helped her husband on the farm all of their married life, but she also worked at several businesses. Included in these business's were Farrington Telephone Company, Spurgeons, Montgomery Wards, and the cafe in Cincinnati. She loved making baby quilts and baking cookies.
She is survived by 6 children, Jim Oden and his wife Pam of Exline, Marcia Prather and her husband Doug of Russell, Iowa, Richard Oden of Exline, Jack Oden and his wife Mary of Unionville, MO, Paul Oden of Cincinnati, IA, and Cheryl McHenry and her husband Jack of Cincinnati, 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and caregiver Nancy Thompson (her guardian angel).
She was preceded in death by her husband Jack, her parents, brothers Claude, Andrew, and Raymond Dooley, a sister Leona Beer.
Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Friday, April 29 at the Exline Cemetery with Pastor Daniel Marsh officiating. Friends may call Thursday from 9 AM until 8 PM at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home. A memorial has been established in Lieu of flowers and may be left or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, PO Box 6, Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
