Janet Hansen's Obituary
Janet Hansen, 68, of Seymour, passed away on December 11, 2017 at the Wayne County Hospital. Janet was born in Chariton, Iowa to Wayne and Eula (Kenney) Henderson on September 13, 1949. Janet graduated from Wayne Community High School with the class of 1967. She married Don Jackson in 1968, and to this union was born her 3 daughters, Angie, Sheila and Pam. She was a radiology technician, a farm wife and devoted mother. In 1990, she married Alan Hansen and they enjoyed twenty-seven fun-filled years together working on their farm and raising quarter horses. Later, she opened her own embroidery business called "And Sew On". She was cutting back on her business and was looking forward to spending more time playing. To Janet, playing meant more time traveling, trail riding with Alan and their numerous friends and spending more time with her beloved grandkids. Janet loved the simple things in life! Some of her very favorite memories were their numerous trips riding horses in the mountainsâ?¦ God's Country. Other favorites included being a grandma, riding the ranger around the farm checking cattle, and playing cards. Another one of Janet's great joys was dancing. If you ever got the pleasure of watching her and Alan two-step, then you'll probably agree that it was unforgettable. This â??Good Hearted Woman' will be sorely missed by countless friends and family. Janet is survived by her mother Eula Henderson, husband Alan Hansen, daughters: Angie Jensen (Mike), Sheila Craig (Mike), Pam Chambers (Jared), Diane Heidenreich (Ken), Teresa Funk (Randy), grandchildren: Laredo Davis, Brody and Kaleb Jensen, Cody and Casey Craig, Courtney Phelps, Jett Chambers, Michael Gruman, Alexander and Victoria Heidenreich, Brett Funk; sister Gwenda Baker (Jim), brother Gary Henderson (Susan), sister Bette Kuboushek (Linus) and numerous extended family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father Wayne Henderson and nephew Terry Harvey. Funeral service will be Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon. Interment will immediately follow the service at Corydon Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, December 15, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon.
