Jana Snook's Obituary
Jana Rae Snook passed away peacefully of cancer Sunday Jan 13th at Golden Age Care Center in Centerville, Iowa. Jana was born to Raymond and Dorcas Snook in Chariton, Iowa Feb 23rd, 1953. She graduated from Wayne Community High School with the class of '71. She attended Cosmetology school in Des Moines then became an instructor there. Jana moved to Corydon and attended Indian Hills College for computer training then accepted a position at Rubbermaid Company in Centerville. Jana always enjoyed bowling so becoming a member of the Rubbermaid bowling league was highlight. In 1990 while working at Rubbermaid she noticed symptoms that were later diagnosed as MS. Jana continued to work for a time, but was forced to quit what she called her dream job. She moved from her home into Shamrock Apartments along with her cat named Tweety. In 2002, Jana became a resident at Golden Age Care Center. Jana is survived by her sister in law Connie West and husband James of Corydon, aunts, uncles and cousins. Jana was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jim and infant sister Sue Ann. Jana always faced her debilitating health challenges with a positive and cheerful attitude with a smile for everyone she met. She will be missed by her dedicated friends, Judy, Lorie and Jo, many caregivers and her sister in law Connie. Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m., Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon with Rev. Diane Olson-Schroeder officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Corydon Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
