Jamie Joe Zaputil's Obituary
Jamie Joe Zaputil, age 38, of Mystic, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017.
Jamie was born on June 16, 1978, the son of James Zaputil and Debbie (Reynolds) Zaputil. He graduated from Centerville High School, class of 1997. He was united in marriage to Bridgette West on March 22, 2009 at the Solid Rock Church of God in Centerville.
Jamie loved the outdoors, especially while he was deer hunting. He enjoyed farming and spending time with his family. He was very fond of Sprint cars. He loved to race them, and watch them.
He was employed with Zaputil Farms in Mystic for most of his life. He was also part of the Mystic and Centerville Volunteer Fire Departments, including being a Mystic First Responder. In 2007 and 2008, he worked for Clive and Urbandale Fire Departments as a fireman. He recently completed his EMT certification.
Left to honor Jamie's memory are his wife, Bridgette Zaputil of Mystic; his parents, James Zaputil of Mystic and Debbie (Reynolds) Zaputil of Centerville; his children, Cody Zaputil, Colton Zaputil, Wyatt Zaputil, and Remey Zaputil; a sister, Tiffany (Gregg) Lawson of Cincinnati; a niece, Skyler Lawson of Cincinnati; a nephew, Greyson Lawson of Cincinnati; as well as several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Joe and Dorothy Zaputil and Lyman and Elo Reynolds; a cousin-in-law, Dyllan Lawson; and a friend, George McCloud.
Funeral services will be held at 10AM Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Solid Rock Church of God in Centerville with Pastor Tony Angran officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service at Elgin Cemetery in Mystic, Iowa. A visitation will take place from 6-8PM, Friday, March 17, 2017 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville. Memorials have been established to his Children's College Fund and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
