James Pleas Surber, Jr.'s Obituary
In loving memory of James Pleas Surber Jr. "Bub", 32 years of age. He was born December 27th, 1990 to James and Becky Surber Sr., and died on February 4th, 2023.
Surviving is his mother, Becky Surber; 5 children, James 12, Serenity 11, Braxton 9, Adalynn 7, Havannah 3; significant other, Amber Thompson; four sisters, Becky (David) Sly of Cedar Rapids, Ruby Surber of Oskaloosa, Ashley (Steve) Sidebottom of Oskaloosa, and Sarah (Jorge) Alvares of Eagle Grove; as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Preceded in death by his father, James Pleas Surber Sr.; both maternal and paternal grandparents; as well as several aunts and uncles.
James was a G.E.D. graduate, and was currently employed with Landus Cooperative in Ida Grove, Iowa.
James enjoyed fishing, tinkering on cars, going hunting, going to races, and enjoyed all kinds of music. He was also a great artist, good with technology, and he enjoyed to joke and got along with many.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM, Friday, February 10, 2023 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with Pastor Ruby Surber officiating. Cremation will follow the service, and James will be laid to rest at a later date at Philadelphia Cemetery, Plano, Iowa. Visitation will take place Friday, February 10, 2023 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with the family greeting friends from 11AM-1PM.
