James Smith's Obituary
James Smith, age 62, of Unionville, Iowa, died Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at his home near Unionville. He was born the son of Paul and Eudora (Bailey) Smith on March 14, 1945 in Centerville, Iowa. He graduated from the Moulton Community Schools in Moulton, Iowa.On August 22, 1965, James was united in marriage to Shirley Piatt in Lancaster, Missouri. He worked for a time at John Deere in Ottumwa, Iowa and also for Monroe Plastics in Albia, Iowa as a foreman. He would also work on automobiles and enjoyed raising horses. He spent a great deal of time playing the guitar and going to different music shows.He is preceded in death by: his parents; daughter, Melinda Smith and a brother, Keith Smith.James is survived by: his wife, Shirley Smith of Unionville, Iowa; sons, Jesse Smith of Mystic, Iowa and James Paul Smith of Unionville, Iowa; daughter, Jeanne Long and her husband, Matt of Moravia, Iowa; brothers, Ronald Smith of Moravia, Donald Smith of Blakesburg, Iowa and Roger Smith of Oskaloosa, Iowa; sisters, Kathy Young of Mystic, Iowa, Dianna Herman of Bryan, Illinois and Janet Daniels of Udell, Iowa; seven grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 9, 2007 at 1:30 pm at the To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of James Smith please visit our Sympathy Store.
