James Paul Riggall's Obituary
John Paul Riggall, age 70, of Centerville, Iowa, died Saturday, October 11, 2008, at Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby, North Dakota while on a hunting trip with his son. He was born to Lavern and Nellie Fonda (McConnell) Riggall in Denver, Colorado on July 20, 1938. He graduated from Burlington High School in Burlington, Iowa and would later graduate from Iowa Wesleyan in Mount Pleasant, Iowa with his Degree in Business Administration where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity.John served his country with the United States Army from October 3, 1962 until his honorable discharge on September 17, 1964. John moved to Centerville in 1967 with Iowa Southern Utilities. He then started his own Insurance Agency and was an Independent Insurance Agent in Centerville for many years. He attended Faith United Methodist Church in Centerville, was a former member of the Indian Hills Baseball Booster Club and an avid Iowa Hawkeye Fan, hunter, golfer and a very proud grandfather.He is preceded in death by his parents.John is survived by: One daughter, Carrie Kaster of Indianola, Iowa, formerly of Centerville, one son, John Bradley Riggall (Linda) of Centerville and grandchildren, Alexis and Cannon Riggall both of Centerville, Iowa; brother, David Riggall and his wife, Sue of Chandler, Arizona and nieces, Tara Johansen (Rob) of St. Louis, Missouri and Dana Riggall of Mesa, Arizona.Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 1 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Gene Kubli officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 from 1pm till 8 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville with the family present from 6 pm till 8 pm at the funeral home.A memorial fund has been set up in his name and will be designated at a later date and can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
