James Ostino's Obituary
James Ostino, age 83 of Numa, Iowa passed away Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
James was born February 10, 1931 in Numa, Iowa, the son of John B. Ostino and Gladys (Cathcart) Ostino. He graduated from Numa High School and married Joann Bookout in Green City, Mo in 1950.
Jim worked for Oscar Meyer in Davenport for over 30 years. He was a past member of the Numa City Council, was the sexton of the Numa Cemetery for many years, was a former member of the Valley General Baptist Church in Bettendorf and currently, a member of the People's Baptist Church, Centerville.
Jim is survived by his wife Joann of Numa; sons, James Ostino (Lyn Arguello) of East Moline, IL, Richard Ostino and his wife Sharon of Pleasant Valley, Iowa; daughters, Amber Thomas and her husband Rodger of Numa, and Jersie Jane Ostino of Numa; 14 grand children; 14 great grandchildren; and a cousin, Virginia Padovan of Centerville.
Funeral services will be held at 1PM Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, Centerville. Visitation will be from noon until 1PM at the Lange Funeral Home & Crematory, Centerville, Iowa. Burial will be in the Numa Cemetery, Numa, Iowa. A memorial has been established to People's Baptist Church, Centerville or to the Numa Cemetery Association and may be given to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa 52544 .
