James L. 'Crop' Robinson, 74 of Mystic passed away Sunday, January 23, 2011 at his home. Crop was born to Leo & Ilene(Armstrong) Robinson on March 17, 1936 in Mystic. He received his education from Mystic High School. Crop married Nancy Houser in Mystic on September 21, 1957. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving from 1957-1959. He was employed by the Department of Transportation retiring in 1993. He was a past chief of the Mystic Fire Department, Mystic Marshall and currently was Mayor of Mystic. Crop was a member of Mystic First Responders, Mystic City Council, Mystic Community Betterment, Boy Scout leader, sponsor for Girl Scouts, Little League baseball coach and a member of the Highland Cemetery Association. After retirement he drove a school bus for Centerville Schools and was involved in the 18-80 Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mowing his yard, playing fast pitch softball, gardening and time spent with his family friends. Crop is survived by his wife Nancy of Mystic, five children; Peggy Bullard(Shannon) of Pleasantville, David Robinson(Charlotte) of Mystic, Kathy Hudson(Phil) of Mystic, Kelli Clark(David) of Mystic, Doug Robinson(Raelynn) of Mystic, 11 grandchildren; Dusty Seddon, T.J. Seddon, Josh Seddon, Crystal Robinson, Daniel Robinson, Tanner Robinson, Taylor Robinson, Jeremy Hudson, Justin Hudson, J.R. Lewis, Becky Clark, 11 great great grandchildren; Jordan Clark, Ty Seddon, Bode Seddon, Avery Seddon, Colton Robinson, Alexis Hudson, Savanah Hudson, Ava Hudson, Asher Hudson, Tre Lewis, Blane Clayworth and a brother, John Robinson of Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Bernice Lowe. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Thomas Funeral Home. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be all day Wednesday with the family present from 6-8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home.
