James H. Mcgrann's Obituary
James McGrann, age 69 of Mystic, Iowa died Tuesday May 23, 2006 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.
James was born December 13, 1936 the son of James and Fairy (Herman) McGrann in Appanoose County and was raised in Brazil, Iowa.
James married Carol Jean Barbaglia and they later divorced. He married Jerri Ilene Kaster on August 16, 1968 in Centerville, Iowa. He owned and operated the McGrann Fur Farm for many years and worked at Union Carbide for 30 years. He worked at the American Legion on Saturday nights. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors and decorating the outside for Christmas. He loved spending time with his family.
James is survived by his wife, Jerri McGrann; son, Mark (Carla Cochran) McGrann of Mystic, IA; three daughters, Diane (Steve Hiatt) DalPonte of Exline, IA, Patricia (Larry) Thomas of Fairfield, IA, Julie (Barry Conner) McGrann of Centerville, IA; two step-sons, William Darrah of Onawa, IA and Robert Darrah of Kalispell, MT; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, two step-great grandchildren and a sister Dixie Comeau of Stewart, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Jack McGrann; an infant brother Donald, and his sister Patty Heiss. Graveside Services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday May 27, 2006 at Highland Cemetery in Mystic, Iowa with Pastor Terry Chapman officiating. Visitation will be held all day Friday with the family present from 6-8 PM at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa. A memorial has been established to the Mystic First Responders and may be mailed to or left at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St. Centerville, Iowa 52544.
