James Lawson's Obituary
James Lawson, age 69 of Moulton, Iowa, died Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at his home in Moulton, Iowa. He was born the son of Arthur Lawson and Norene (Starr) Lawson on August 4, 1939. He attended Moulton Community Schools.On May 31, 1959 he was united in marriage to Donna Taylor in Bloomfield, Iowa. He worked for Moulton - Udell Community Schools as a bus driver for several years and was also engaged in farming near Moulton. He owned and operated his own dump truck and later he assisted the Amish with their transportation needs. He was a member of the Monterey Christian Church in Monterey, Iowa and a member of the Lapland Plow Boys.He is preceded in death by his parents; Arthur Lawson on October 23, 1993, Norene Lawson on October 11, 1979, and a sister Carolyn Rose.James is survived by; his wife, Donna Lawson of Moulton, Iowa; sons; Rick and his wife, Gina Lawson of Ireton, Iowa and Tracy and his wife, Stacy Lawson of Centerville, Iowa; a daughter; Kathy and her husband, Randy Burdett of Ottumwa, Iowa; a sister, Marilyn Steggall of Lancaster, Missouri; a brother, Jerald Lawson of Moulton, Iowa; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.Funeral Services will be held on Saturday June 27, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the Moulton Christian Church in Moulton, Iowa with the Rev. Reg Higginbottom and Dewayne Lawson officiating. Burial will follow at the Sunset View Cemetery north of Moulton. Visitation will be held Friday, June 26, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Moulton, Iowa. Memorials can be made to the American Legion and First Responders both of Moulton, or Hospice of Central Iowa.
