Danny Veirs
James Benton "Hop" Holliday worked for my father Don Veirs for many, many, years. I first met "Hop" as he was affectionately know, when he was scraping raccoon hides at night in my father's fur house. He would work all day at the foundry in Centerville, Ia. and then come and scrape raccoons for several hours every night. Later on he actually went to work for my father full time. He worked on our farm, drove a truck, worked cattle, erected grain bins we sold, and did many other chores. I have to say he was the hardest working man I've ever known. He was mostly quiet and kept to himself. He was a fine person and I always enjoyed working with him! He will be missed.
