James Edward Fincher's Obituary
James Edward Fincher, age 77, of Moulton, Iowa, died Thursday, September 20, 2007 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born the son of Homer and Ruby (Ayers) Fincher on May 4, 1930 in Independence, Missouri. He attended a rural school in Missouri.On June 4, 1949, James was united in marriage to Margaret Ribar in Danville, Iowa. He served his country during the Korean Conflict from April 1952 until his honorable discharge in March 1954. He was awarded 2 bronze stars, United Nations Service Medal and a National Defense Service Medal. James worked over 40 years for the Moulton-Udell Community Schools as Head of Maintenance, and was also a school bus driver. He owned Rose Sawmill in Moulton for many years as well. He enjoyed fishing, working with his family, mowing yards, reading, listening to his country music, watching old western movies and his grandkids.He was preceded in death by: his parents; sisters, Hilda Mae Baker and Pearl Shirley.James is survived by: his wife, Margaret 'Peggy' Fincher of Moulton, Iowa; son, David Fincher and his wife, Jeanne of Moulton, Iowa; daughter, May Ann Benell of Moulton, Iowa; grandchildren, Joey Fincher, Greg Fincher and Adam Fincher all of Moulton, Iowa, Timothy Fincher of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Kevin Benell, Kimberly Henry and Damien Smith all of Moulton, Iowa; great grandchildren, Alexis, Addison and Kaitlin Fincher, Matthew, Hailey and Brittany Benell, Nathaniel and Donavon Fry, Ryan and Jesse Henry; brothers, Robert Fincher of Moulton, Iowa, and Eugene Fincher of Cantril, Iowa; sisters, Betty Green of Kansas City, Kansas and Ellie May Harding of Kentucky;Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at 10 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Moulton, Iowa with Rev. Jerry Weller officiating. Burial with full military honors at Sunset View Cemetery north of Moulton, Iowa.
