James 'Tutor' Cochran's Obituary
James Allen 'Tutor' Cochran, age 61 of Moravia, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at his home.
Tutor was born on September 21, 1955 in Albia, Iowa, the son of Lester and Edna (Faris) Cochran. He graduated from Moravia High School.
Tutor farmed throughout his lifetime. He worked for Farm Service . He also logged and worked at a hog confinement for a brief period of time. His main passion was working with cattle.
He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and hunting, especially fox and coyote hunting. He loved to socialize with friends and family.
Tutor is survived by his stepson, Dylan Conley-Cochran of Ankeny; his siblings, Wanda (Dean) Tomlin of Moravia, Norma Thomas of Centerville, Carolyn Woodward of Moravia, Alta (Gene) Daniels of Moravia, Donna (Tom) Romanco of Lovilia, Eddie (June) Cochran of Centerville and Ted (Shalise) Cochran of Hays, Kansas; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Benji (Becky) Dommer of Moravia, Dee (Jim) Rinehart of Moravia, Debbie Fosenberg of Albia and Terri Seals of Moravia; as well as a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Edna Cochran, and a sister, Judy Whitlow.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Lighthouse Church of the Nazarene in Moravia with Pastor Terry Chapman officiating. An open visitation will be held after the service at approximately 12:00PM, Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Lighthouse Church of the Nazarene in Moravia. Memorials have been established to the family of James 'Tutor' Cochran, and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
