James "Jimmie" Beaty's Obituary
James "Jimmie" L. Beaty, 75, of Centerville passed away, Thursday, February 15, 2018 at his home near Mystic. Jimmie was born to Lewis & Edith (Lain) Beaty on January 30, 1943 in Centerville. He received his education from Centerville High School, graduating in 1961. Jimmie was united in marriage to Donna Lee Wood in Centerville on August 4, 1963. To this union came three children: Shelley, Sherry and Susan. Jimmie spent the majority of his life farming. He enjoyed being outdoors. Jimmie loved taking his dog for walks around the farm. He also enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing and playing cards. Jimmie's family brought him the most joy. He especially loved spending time with his grandkids. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Donna Beaty of Mystic, three girls: Shelley Royer (Joe) of Indianola, Sherry Jones of Centerville, Susan Pritchard Beaty (Rick) of Carlisle, six grandchildren: Bailey Royer, Jalen Jones, Jacey Spurgeon (Justin), Cooper Royer, Nathan Pritchard, Logan Pritchard Beaty, step-grandson, Cory Pritchard (Gina), four sisters: Donna Dudley of Chandler, AZ, Joyce Phillips (Howard) of Centerville, Janice Gardner (LeRoy) of Urbandale, Rita Martin (Kenny) of Moravia, two sisters-in-law: Beverly Fike of Centerville, Betty Talbot of Centerville and numerous extended family. He was preceded in death by his brother Dale Beaty in 1958, his parents and his mother-in-law, Honora Fox. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 19, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Centerville with Rev. Lloyd Johnston officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Concord Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Thomas Funeral Home from 1-8:00 p.m. with the family present from 4-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family which will be designated at later date and condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com.
