James Edward Ballanger's Obituary
James Edward Ballanger, age 52, of Moravia, Iowa, died Monday, February 4, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. He was born the son of John Earl and Bethel Alice (Davison) Ballanger on May 16, 1955 in Albany, Georgia. He received his education in the Moulton-Udell Community Schools.On July 14, 1990, James was united in marriage to Jean Stocker in Centerville, Iowa. He farmed in the Moravia, Iowa area and was known for his fence building business, Ballanger-Dommer Fencing & Construction.He was preceded in death by: his father, John Earl Ballanger July 23, 2002; his brother, Joseph E. Ballanger on December 29, 2006 and his sister, Mary Alice Ballanger in 1971.James is survived by: his wife, Jean Ballanger of Moravia, Iowa; sons, Jody and Jeremy Ballanger of Moravia, Iowa; mother, Bethel Ballanger of Coatsville, Missouri; brothers, John Ballanger, Jr. of Coatsville, Missouri, Jeff Ballanger of Moulton, Iowa and Jay Ballanger of Kirksville, Missouri; a sister, Linda S. Leach of Livonia, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 8, 2008 at 10 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Dennis Doud officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in the Hillcrest Cemetery near Moravia, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2008 from 1 pm till 8 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville with the family present from 6 pm till 8 pm at the funeral home.Memorials can be made to his Boy's College Funds and can be left at the funeral home.
