James Allen's Obituary
James Rex Allen, son of Ray and Mary (Reed) Allen was born in Wayne County on November 24, 1930 and passed away at Davis Center on October 23, 2011 at the age of 80 years. After graduation from Sewal High School in 1948, he served with the 34th division of the National Guard from 1950 - 1956. In May 1953 he was married to Roberta Williams. Four sons were born to this union: Jim, Larry, Matt and Bobby. Rex and Roberta were engaged in farming and raising cattle. They purchased a farm south of Allerton and later moved east of Humeston and in 2000 they bought a home and moved south of Humeston. Rex's parents Ray and Mary Allen, brother Charles and brother-in-law Burris Havner, and great granddaughter Sydney Allen preceded him in death. Left to mourn his passing are wife Roberta, sons Jim, Larry, Matt and Bobby (Deb). He is also survived by ten grandchildren: Bridget (Bryan) Klessel, Tiffany (Alex) Allen, Trayson Allen, Nickie (Jason) Allen, Alesha Allen, Heather (Justin) Riddle, Michele (Justin) Crompton, Chris (Alicia) Allen, Amy (John) Carey and Cody Allen, seven great grandchildren: Samual Klessel, Lauren Allen, Johnny Carey, Christian Carey, Jacob Carey, Emory Elkins and Hayden Elkins and sisters Lorraine Havner and Reva (Walt) Trembly.
