Jack A. Rheinberger's Obituary
Jack Rheinberger 85, formerly of Centerville passed away at Deerfield Health Center in Urbandale, Iowa April 2, 2006.
Jack was born to Harold and Zelda Rheinberger on March 20, 1921, in Nauvoo, Illinois. He attended schools in Burlington, Iowa, graduating from Burlington High School in 1939. He served as a Sergeant in the US Army during World War II with the 79th Anti-Aircraft Auto Weapons Unit in Belgium and France. After serving the Army, Jack worked for McKesson-Robbins Pharmaceuticals, retiring after 50 years.
Jack married Jean L. Augustine in Burlington on November 13, 1943. She preceded him in death. Jack is survived by his children Michael (Cathy) of Pine, Colorado; Cheri (Herb) Nimmo of Waukee, Iowa; Stacey (Duane) Smith of Waukee and grandchildren Chad (Kristi) Nimmo of Lenexa, Kansas; and Brock Nimmo of Waukee.
An avid woodworker, Jack often made furniture and gift items for family and friends. He and Jean enjoyed boating and golfing. Jack was a member of the Drake Avenue Christian Church, Appanoose Country Club, Elks, Moose and Eagles.
Visitation is at 10:00 am Thursday, April 6th at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home followed by a private graveside service at 11:00am at Oakland Cemetery in Centerville.
