Ivan Earnest McNeff, Jr.'s Obituary
Ivan Earnest McNeff, Jr., age 63, of Cincinnati, Iowa, received his last wish to pass away from this world at home surrounded by his loving family and friends, on Tuesday, May 20, 2008. He was born the son of Ivan E. McNeff, Sr. and Pauline (Blair) McNeff on February 24, 1945 in Iowa City, Iowa. He graduated from Centerville Community Schools in 1963 and went on to attend a meat cutting school in Toledo, Ohio.In 1963, Ivan was united in marriage to Jackie Ann Ponsetto in Unionville, Missouri, they were later divorced. Then on July 31, 1999, Ivan was united in marriage to Annie Hayes in Corydon, Iowa. He worked for Oscar Mayers meat packing plant in Davenport, Iowa for over thirty-two years. He was a member of Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church in Centerville where he had many close friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Ivan E. McNeff, Sr., on March 8, 1984.Ivan is survived by his wife, Annie McNeff of Cincinnati, Iowa; his mother, Pauline McNeff of Centerville, Iowa; his son, Ivan McNeff, III and his wife Trudy of Walcott, Iowa; three boys whom he helped to raise, Roger Jacobs of Milan, Illinois, Mike Jacobs of Davenport, Iowa, and Johnny Coons and his wife Carrie of Davenport, Iowa; three step-sons, Matt Hackathorn of Centre, Alabama, John Miller of Ottumwa, Iowa and Billy Miller of Des Moines, Iowa; a sister, Joetta Clark and her husband Dale J. of Corydon, Iowa; eighteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Brian Hargrave officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Mystic, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 23, 2008 from 1:00 PM till 8:00 PM at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with the family present from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to the family and will be decided at a later date in lieu of flowers.
