Irvin "Bill" Baker, age 91, of Centerville, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, May 17, 2026, surrounded by the memories of a life well lived. Bill was born on September 30, 1934, in Seymour, Iowa, the son of Kermit and Read Obituary
I had only known the Bakers for a short time when Carolyn passed.
I was delivering meals for Milestones. They both volunteered at the 1880 club, where we worked out of, before I started.
They both own a special place in my heart.
I had actually recently thought that I should bake some butterscotch cookies and take them to Bill.
I wish I had!
I'm sad he's gone, and so happy he's back with his most loved wife.

I'm Dennis's stepdaughter, so Bill & Carolyn were my stepgrandparents. Our family enjoyed visiting Bill & Carolyn with Dennis when we visited family in Iowa. I remember one Christmas we spent with them at their Centerville home. Carolyn was a wonderful cook, and Bill was very generous. Before we left, he handed each of us some Christmas money, and our three children were so surprised and happy to be included. Bill was a wonderful man who will be missed!

Bill was one of a kind and a special person to me .30years ago when I started into pest control business Bill would call me BUGGY and at the time he was scrapping metal,so he became SCRAPPY.and thats how we greeted each other for the next 30 yrs. He always had a smile and "pull up a chair "lets talk" Last fall I talked him to going to Seymour with me , we toured the countryside and i learned alot of history. Always good for a story and im going to miss listening . You will be missed Rest in peace SCRAPPY...
