Irene Swimm's Obituary
Martha Irene Swimm, age 92 of Centerville died March 9, 2007 at the Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, Iowa.
Irene was born January 7, 1915 the daughter of Charles and Hetti (Faris) Wahl in Moulton, Iowa. She married Cecil Morlan, he preceded her in death on September 24, 1980. She married Leonard (John) Swimm February 18, 1989. Irene enjoyed cooking, gardening, crocheting and was a loving, caring wife and mother. She was active in the Fairview Church of the Brethern and the Church Ladies Aid.
Irene is survived by her husband; Leonard John Swimm, three children; daughter Jerri (Gene) Dixon of Centerville, IA, their children; Lydia (Dennis) Bain of Centerville, IA, Rick (Rhonda) Dixon of Centerville, IA, Lisa (Juan) Pozo of Belgium, WI, daughter; Shirley (Marvin) Morris of Centerville, IA, their children; Vicky Beall of Lansing, KS, Marla (Jim) Krejci of Centerville, IA, Cindy (Darrell) Koehler of Udell, IA, Molly (Tom) Kelly of Colorado Springs, Troy (Megan) Morris of Highland Ranch, CO,and daughter; Betty (Darrell) Powell of Oskaloosa, IA, and their children; Kip (Lisa) Powell of Rochester, NY, and Kurt (Michelle) Powell of Marrietta, GA, one step-daughter; Judy (Jack) Custer of Cherokee, OK, eleven great grandchildren, twenty-one great-great grandchildren and two great-great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by three siblings; Ernest, Lester and Esco Wahl, and a grandson-in-law, Michael Beall.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Monday, March 12, 2007 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home with Pastor Carl Heien officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery, Unionville, Iowa. A visitation will be held Sunday with family present from 6-8 PM. A memorial has been established to the Fairview Church of the Brethern and may be left at or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa 52544.
