Inez Fern (Newland) Richardson passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023, at the Unity Point Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. She was born on January 23, 1933, to Henry and Isabel Newland in Millboro, SD.
Inez was married to Leo Richardson in 1953. They had two sons: John (Marcine) of Pleasantville, IA, and Ralph (Karen) of Lineville , IA. The family moved from Nebraska to in Iowa in 1966 where they farmed for many years near Clio.
Inez loved to help others in any way she could. She was known as being a hard worker and caring for her neighbors. She shared many memories with her friends and family. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her house plants. She had a passion for books and loved reading as much as she could.
Inez is survived by her two sons John (Marcine), Ralph (Karen); grandchildren: Amber, Troy, Maxwell, and Amy; one great- grandchild: Emma; sister Letha Bartlett of Alda, NE; brothers, Glen (Marla) Newland of Ravenna, NE, and Wilbur Newland of Grand Island, NE; In-laws Pauline Pilkington, Emily (Dean) Bartlett, Tom (Mary) Richardson, Barbara Richardson, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leo, parents Henry and Isabel, Henry (Francis) Newland, Louise (Dick) Osburn, Gene Bartlett, Betty (Ken) Harp, George (Butch) Richardson, and Henry Richardson.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at Thomas Funeral Home- Corydon with Diane Olson Schroeder officiating. Interment will follow the service at Clio Cemetery in Clio, Iowa. Visitation will take place Tuesday, February 21, 2023, with the family greeting friends from 11:00AM-1:00PM at Thomas Funeral Home- Corydon.
