Ileta June Mihalovich's Obituary
Ileta June Mihalovich, age 89, of Centerville, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2024 at MercyOne Medical Center in Centerville.
Ileta was born on June 14, 1935 in Moravia, Iowa, near Main Station, the daughter of William and Vesta (Hilton) Reeves. She graduated from Centerville High School with the Class of 1952. On February 4, 1956, Ileta was united in marriage to Daniel Frances Mihalovich, and to this union, five children were born, Dan, Joan, Carla, Dennis and David.
Ileta was a homemaker, who took great pride in raising her children. After they were grown, she loved spending time with them, as well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Subsequently, she also was a co-owner of Tiki Marine Inc. with her husband, Dan. She was also an amazing seamstress.
In her free time, Ileta enjoyed gardening, camping, genealogy, boating-especially the wild and crazy boat drivers, and she spent 22 years traveling to Texas in the winter time.
Left to cherish Ileta's memory are her husband of 68 years, Dan Mihalovich; her children, Dan (Julie) Mihalovich Jr., Joan (Terry) Lang, Dennis (Jolonda) Mihalovich, and David (Sherry) Mihalovich; her son-in-law, Flint Wahl; 11 grandchildren, Kelsey Mihalovich, Tony (Ashley) Lang, Andrew (Kim) Lang, Adam (Brandi) Lang, Dallas (Taija) Wahl, Isaac (Sam) Wahl, Brett (Julie) Mihalovich, Lucas (Jessie) Mihalovich, Collin Mihalovich, Samantha Mihalovich and Evan Mihalovich; 18 great-grandchildren, Addison, Tanzi, Chace, Maddyx, Byren, Matthew, Blayne, Burkley, Logan, Oliver, Asher, Lilli, Elli, Liberti, Lanni, Kobi, Sofia and Frank; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
Ileta was preceded in death by her parents, William and Vesta Reeves; her in-laws, Dan and Vic Mihalovich; her daughter, Carla Wahl; her granddaughter, Danielle Renee Wahl; and her brother, Doyle (Doris) Hampton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30AM, Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville with Fr. Ron Hodges officiating. A private family burial will take place at Haines Cemetery, north of Centerville. Visitation will take place Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with the family greeting friends from 5:30PM-7:30PM, with a prayer service at 5:30PM, conducted by Deacon Ed Kamerick. In lieu of flowers, Memorials in honor of Ileta, may be made to either St. Mary's Catholic Church, or to the family to be determined at a later date, and can be mailed to Thomas Funeral Home, ATTN: Mihalovich Family, 501 North 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
