Idalee Exline McClurg's Obituary
Idalee Exline McClurg, age 83 of Centerville, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at Hospice in Ottumwa, Iowa, following a stroke. Born in Udell to Milton and Ida Houser Exline on January 4, 1933, Idalee married Robert McClurg of Exline on April 9, 1950. They first met at age 9 and 12, and were lifelong partners in family, faith, farming and friendships.
Idalee was the mother of Bryan (deceased), Kayla and Robin and the grandmother of Owen Stickler (Casey), Ashleigh Shipman (Jason and Tatum, Aubree and Linken), Kiaya Poncy (Brian and Calif), Brendan McClurg (Adria), Patrick McClurg and Jeff McClurg (Heather, deceased, and Quinn and Chase). She was the sister of Harold, Lucille, George and Dale, all deceased.
She loved her extended family and friends, especially her beloved Party Group (Wayne and Rosalee Exline, Donald and Dorothy Haines, Jack and Martha McClurg, Jess and Daunita White and Skip Ash); her colleagues at Easter's Super Valu; the Exline Church of Christ; and the Exline Royal Neighbors. She kept a daily diary and liked being busy. 'We'll Work Till Jesus Comes' was her life motto.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 8, 2016, at 10:30AM at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Pastor Brian Hargrave officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Ararat Cemetery east of Centerville. A visitation will take place Monday, August 8, 2016, at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville from 9:30AM-10:30AM. Memorials have been established to the Exline Church of Christ and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home, 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
