Ida Ellarea Davison Obituary's Obituary
Ida Ellarea Davison, daughter of Oral and Edith Beary Warren was born October 23, 1933 in Wayne County, Iowa and departed this life at Hospice of the Valley-The Ryan House, Phoenix, Arizona, and June 26, 2013. Ellarea attended Millerton Schools through the eleventh grade. For her senior year, she transferred to Corydon High School to graduate in 1952. After attending Northeast State College for a short time, she worked for Representative Oscar Stephenson as his secretary in the Iowa House of Representatives for the 1953 Iowa Legislation session. Upon returning home from the state house, she was employed by Corydon Sate Bank. On September 11, 1953, Ellarea married J.C. Davison. She continued to work at the bank until J. C. was inducted into the U. S. Army. They then lived in Fort Smith, Arkansas, near the Fort Chaffee army base. Ellarea was employed at the First National Bank in Fort Smith during J.C.'s military service. In March 1958, she returned to Corydon State Bank, after J. C. was discharged from active duty. To this union three children were born; Laura, Lisa and Matthew. Ellarea spent considerable time supporting her children in their activities which she enjoyed very much. Ellarea was very active in the United Methodist Church, Preceptor Alpha Sigma Sorority, P.E.O., Prairie Trails Museum as officer & board member and Hospital Auxiliary. It was her philosophy to help wherever she was needed. Ellarea was a gifted gardener. She especially enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens while living on the Morgan farm outside Corydon, which she and J.C. purchased in 1995. She was active in golf and always enjoyed reading a good mystery book. Ellarea and J. C. moved to Payson, Arizona in October 2005 to be near their children and families. They took many scenic trips throughout Arizona and she especially enjoyed a trip to see the hummingbird migration. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Geraldine Coates; and brothers, Warner B. and Clell Warren. Ellarea is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, J.C.; daughter Laura and husband, James Tedeschi of Scottsdale, Arizona; daughter Lisa and husband, David McCalmont of Phoenix, Arizona; son Matthew and wife, Debra of Glendale, Arizona; granddaughters, Candace and Lily McCalmont, Maya and Jenna Tedeschi, Mirabella Andreini and Cecilia (CeCe) E. A. Davison; and grandsons, Saxon and Peter Davison; sister, Mary Lou and husband, Larry Sturgis of Lamoni, Iowa; sisters-in-laws, Carolyn (Russell) Copley, Ankeny, Iowa and Marilyn Johns of Springfield, Missouri; and many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Ellarea will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. Ellarea's family would like to thank everyone for sharing the celebration of her life with them.
