Ida Ruth Baugher's Obituary
Ida Ruth Baugher, 87, of Cincinnati, Iowa, passed to her rest, Tuesday morning, November 16, 2010, at the Putnam County Memorial Care Center in Unionville, Missouri. She was born the fifth of six children to Charles W. and Opal E. (Stout) Collier in Albia, Iowa on April 25, 1923. She attended the Centerville Community Schools.On December 19, 1939, Ruth was united in marriage to Paul Baugher in Centerville, Iowa. They spent their lifetime farming the family farm on the Iowa/Missouri line, south of Exline. Before her health began to decline, she was an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking and sewing. She was a member of the Centerville Seventh-day Adventist Church and was a breast cancer survivor for 26 years.She is preceded in death by: her parents; and her husband, Paul Baugher on March 13, 2005.Ruth is survived by: three children, Sherrill Baugher, Cincinnati, Iowa; Ted and his wife, Sherry Baugher, Lincoln, Nebraska and Deborah and her husband, Sam Pankey of Corinth, Mississippi; seven grandchildren, Amy and her husband, Jeff Deming of Monterey Bay, California, Tricia and her husband, Brian Herbel of Lincoln, Nebraska, Tanya and her husband, Eric Kelley of Huntsville, Alabama, Paul Pankey of Huntsville, Alabama, Rachel Pankey of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Michelle Pankey of Oxford, Mississippi; ten great grandchildren, several cousins and many nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 22, 2010 at 11 am at the Schmidt Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Pastor Able Hagan officiating. Burial will follow at the Friendship Cemetery near Mendota, Missouri. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 21, 2010 from 1 pm till 8 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville with the family present from 6 pm till 8 pm at the funeral home.
