Icel Della (McGhee) Walters Icel Della (McGhee) Walters went home to be with the Lord October 16, 2010 having reached the age of 89 years, 3 months, and 10 days. She passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter. She was born July 6, 1921 at home on a farm in Mercer County, Missouri. She was the daughter of Charles and Maude (Adair) McGhee. She was united in marriage to Dwane Flloyd Walters February 6, 1944 at Fort Riley, Kansas and to this union one daughter and two sons were born. After Dwane was discharged from the Army, they lived briefly in Washington State, and then moved to Iowa and for a short time they farmed north of Lineville. In 1949 they moved to Waterloo, Iowa where they made their home until 1981 when they retired and moved to Corydon. While living in Waterloo, Icel was employed for 27 years at Allen Memorial Hospital in the dietary department. She was a faithful member of the Corydon Assembly of God Church from the time she moved to Corydon until her death. She is survived by daughter Judy Dent and husband William of New Hartford, Iowa, son Jerry and wife Laurie of Elmwood, Wisconsin, 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, 2 sisters Earcel Larsen and Janette McGhee both of Corydon, 2 sisters-in-law Effie Mather of Waterloo and Virginia Rothenberger of Corpus Christi, Texas, several nieces and nephews, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dwane, who died June 28, 1991, son Jack who died August 10, 1978, six brothers: Marvin, Marley, Millard, Melvin, Paul and one unnamed infant, two sisters Thelma Shepard and Ruth McGhee.
