Rexine Jellison's Obituary
Hilma “Rexine” Jellison, 91 of rural Powersville passed away Friday, June 12, 2026 at her home in Putnam County Missouri.
Rexine was born to Walter & Freida (Cook) Stewart on May 7, 1935 near Allerton, Iowa, on a farm known as Trails End. She attended school at the one room Log Chain School and Allerton High School. Her life changed early at age 6 when her mother passed away leaving 7 children to be cared for by her father and 14 year old sister Lorna.
On October 13, 1952, Rexine was united in marriage to Merlin Jellison. To this union six children were born: Shelda, Terry, Derrel, Ricky, Sheryl and Amy. They made their home on the Iowa-Missouri border in the house where Merlin was born. They were married for nearly 50 years before his passing in 2002.
Rexine was a homemaker, who had a strong Christian faith. She taught Sunday School at the Christian Church in Allerton Iowa for more than 30 years. She helped her husband Merlin with his electrical repair business and on the farm throughout their years together.
She enjoyed quilting, reading, spending time with family, helping her community, and caring for the many children who called her mom and grandma. She pieced together over 200 quilts in her lifetime gifting them to family, friends and charitable organizations.
Survivors include her children: Shelda Lunsford (Warren), Terry Jellison (Tammy), Derrel Jellison (Pam Pierce), Sheryl Jellison (Pete Eyheralde), Amy Sinclair (Kent Gries), grandchildren: Tonja Partridge (Joe), Devon Lunsford (Amy), Allysa O’Donnell (Mike), Kera Lewis (Dustin), Elizabeth Bailey (Jake), Robbie Clowser (Shanna), Gabe Clowser (Kassie), Carissa Rodden (Justin), Kandus Jellison, Raelynn Thullen (Pete), Shelby Phillips (Brandon), Caleb Jellison, Logan Jellison, Noah Hefner (Eryn), Hanah Long (Cody), Kethryn Eyheralde (Jon), Emily Eyheralde, Evan Sinclair (Victoria), Mitch Sinclair (Megan), Carter Sinclair, and many great grandchildren, siblings: Kathy Hitt (Steve), Jeff Stewart (Cindy), Danny Stewart (Melissa Mitchell), sisters-in-law, Melvena Stewart, Betty Jellison and numerous extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Merlin, son Ricky Jellison, step-mother Viola Stewart, sisters: Lorna Cochran, Reva Zimmerman, Betty Goddard, Dorothy Clow, Joan Laughlin, brothers: Harry Stewart, Raymond Stewart, Eugene Stewart, in-laws: Halga & Mildred (Langloss) Jellison, step-sister, Irma Jean Harrington.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon. Interment will immediately follow at Shriver Cemetery.
